Here’s what happens when you prestige in Call of Duty: WWII

Prestiging is a common feature in Call of Duty multiplayer—and that hasn’t changed with the release of Call of Duty: WWII.

When you reach the maximum level in multiplayer, you can prestige to reset your rank and go through the level progression again. But in each game, the level at which you prestige and the prestige rewards vary.

This guide will tell you how to prestige, as well as what you unlock in the process.

In order to prestige in Call of Duty: WWII, you must first reach the maximum multiplayer level, which is 55. If you look at the Soldier tab in multiplayer once you have completed level 55, you will notice that it says “eligible to prestige” in the top right corner where your level is shown.

Next, head to the Headquarters feature by hitting the Options or Start button on your controller. Once you enter the Headquarters, go down the path that leads to the spot where you can prestige your divisions.

Before reaching level 55, a soldier is standing guard to the right of this area. But now, this soldier will allow you to walk past him into a secret area where you’ll find the General.

Talk to the General to start the prestige process. A screen will appear in-game that shows you everything that will happen if you decide to prestige. Then, simply hit “enter prestige” and your rank will be reset.

But what else happens when you prestige?

First, you’ll receive a prestige unlock token, which will allow you to permanently unlock any multiplayer item in the game. Prestiging will also grant you a new custom class slot, and will unlock unique rewards and challenges only available to those who prestige.

Additionally, unlike in previous Call of Duty titles, you keep a lot of your multiplayer progress when prestiging in WWII. Although you will be reset back to level one, you will keep your division levels, weapon levels, challenge progress, and any camos or customizations you’ve earned in WWII.

This is probably the most important information about prestiging in WWII, since losing camos and weapons was a big reason why some players chose not to prestige in previous Call of Duty titles.

Once you have prestiged, it’s time to get back on the battlefield and start leveling up so you can restart the prestiging process again.
