Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for the Nintendo Switch is mere hours from being released worldwide.

If you buy the game anytime in the next two months, you will be able to get an additional DLC character for free. This character is Piranha Plant.

Not only is Piranha Plant a free DLC character for a limited time, it is also not part of the Smash Bros. Ultimate season pass, more commonly known as the Fighters Pass.

As such, if you don’t buy the game in the next few months and redeem your free character, Piranha Plant will be available at a later date as a DLC character, presumably retailing around the $5.99 mark. This is the same price that individual characters cost in the Fighters Pass.
